Acer palmatum
Acer palmatum includes hundreds of named cultivars with countless forms, colors, leaf types, sizes, and preferred growing conditions. These images are from a tree in my mother's front yard in Malden, Missouri. She has cultivated this tree through the hot summers and winters for several years. My mother, Frances Black, has a "green thumb" which I believe she inherited from my grandmother Florence Riggs. Both can grow flowers and plants with ease.
